The Marangu Route starts at Marangu Gate and typically takes 5-6 days round trip. It’s considered the easiest route but requires good physical fitness due to altitude gains. The trail passes through diverse landscapes, from rainforests to alpine desert zones.

- Day 5: Summit day – Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (5895m) and descent to Horombo Hut
- Day 6: Descend to Marangu Gate
