Day 01 :
Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Arusha or nearby towns. The drive to Lake Manyara National Park takes you through the beautiful Tanzanian countryside, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views along the way. Arriving at the park gate by mid-morning ensures you have ample time to explore.
Once inside the park, you'll embark on a morning game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, ranging from dense forests to grassy plains and marshlands. During the game drive, you'll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and the park's famous tree-climbing lions. The park is also home to numerous bird species, making it a paradise for bird watchers.
Around midday, you'll enjoy a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, one of the park's designated picnic sites. This spot offers a great view of hippos wallowing in the water and birds flocking to the area. It's a perfect place to relax and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings while enjoying your meal.
After lunch, you'll continue with an afternoon game drive. This is a good time to explore the lakeshore, where you can see large flocks of flamingos and other waterbirds. The afternoon light provides excellent photography opportunities as you capture the stunning landscapes and wildlife.

The period from June to October is generally considered Tanzania's main dry season and is one of the most popular times for safari.

Here are some practical things we recommend knowing before your Tanzania adventure.
Before booking your trip, make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your intended arrival date and has an unused page for immigration purposes. Tanzania's immigration authorities may also ask for evidence of your return or onward travel.
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Many travelers can apply for a Tanzania visa online, and some nationalities may be eligible for visa-free entry or other arrangements.
If you need a visa, we recommend checking the requirements for your specific nationality before travelling. Tanzania Immigration advises travelers to use the official visa application system when applying online.

You can normally find mobile connectivity and Wi-Fi in cities, towns, hotels, and many lodges.
However, don't expect a strong internet connection everywhere on safari.
Some remote areas have limited or no network coverage, and lodge Wi-Fi can vary in speed.

And don't worry too much about being offline. A few hours without your phone can actually make your safari even more enjoyable.

Don't try to get out of the vehicle without your guide's permission, don't call animals toward the vehicle, and never attempt to feed wildlife.
Sometimes the best wildlife encounters happen when everyone simply stays quiet and lets the animals behave naturally.
